Now called the bucket of Mt Eaton. The food is American fare with local twist. Burgers are hand made patties and not fatty. Taste is good but for the price it gets 3 stars. Bakery that is attached all products BROUGHT in daily. Not in house. Biggest complaint while here none of the staff wanted to clean tables. 3 around us when arrived and when left still needed cleaning.

What a random, but fantastic find this place is! While headed home from Lehman's Hardware in Kidron, we decided to drive back through the heart of Amish country for lunch. We figured we'd stop at whatever caught our eye. Coming around a bend in a little one stop light town called Mt. Eaton, Ohio we see a sign for a place called "Uncle E's". Love trying new places, so sure, why not? When you walk in, there is a deer to greet you and an antler chandelier. After seeing this, I almost walked out the door. But I'm sure glad I didn't. Once inside, it actually looks like an upscale lodge. Lots of dark woods and brick. Very clean and appealing. I was surprised based on what was in the lobby. We were greeted by out server Val, who was both knowledgable and speedy the duration of the meal. Service was top notch throughout. Out first was my sweet tea (which was actual southern style sweet tea, not fake northern tea) and fresh baked croissants with a whipped cranberry spread. This was the kind of thing I would have paid $5 for as a small plate appetizer. Here, it was both complimentary and delicious. Were off to a good start. I got "The Manhattan" ($8.00). It's a classic comfort food dish. Texas toast topped with made from scratch whipped potatoes, then pulled turkey and country gravy. Came with a side. I got cottage cheese which was good, and a very generous serving size. We also tried the salmon fingers ($10.00) with a cucumber dill sauce. It was basically just like chicken fingers except made with salmon. Nicely breaded, not too heavy. The cucumber dill could have had just a little more flavor, but that's a minor complaint all things considered. Came with fresh fruit, including pineapple and kiwi, and grilled veggies. Both were fresh, and delicious. While completely full, we took a look at the dessert menu for kicks. The date pudding looked interesting, and it was something I'd never tried before. Why not? Especially at just $5.00, even if it was a miss I could live with that. Good lord was that thing delicious. It came out about the size of a small toaster. No joke. It could easily feed four adults. Suddenly the $5.00 price tag makes this dessert the steal of the year. It was a two layer spiced sheet cake, with a vanilla cream center, topped with a date syrup drizzle, and a dollop of real whipped cream. (See attached picture). It was absolutely fantastic. If all dates taste this good, I'm gonna have to try some more items in the future. For the two of us, it ran us $30.09, which included two drinks, two entrees and a dessert. Not only was it a really good meal, it was at a price point you absolutely cannot beat for the quality. Though situated in Amish country, this little gem can compete with the best dining options around, hands down. If you ever find yourself out in the country, make sure and give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

This place is recently remodeled with new owners. It is a gem hidden in a small town. The ham and bean soup was very tasty. The burger was huge and delicious. The dinner prices were over $10 a plate. Sandwiches were around $8. Try it out.

Excellent food for a very good price. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, nice menu. The crescent rolls are incredible - soft, sweet, great whipped butter. We had the pork chop with two sides (my husband chose applesauce and soup) and I chose rigatoni pomodora with salad. We shared a fried pie with ice cream for dessert which was excellent.

Normally go for an Amish restaurant here but just wanted to go somewhere close in stead. Glad I did. Shrimp basket was great. Was expecting small mostly breaking shrimp in a shrimp basket, was pleasantly surprised. 8 large lightly breaded shrimp with two sauces an order of Cole sale and a pile of fries. Started with hot rolls and butter. Very good meal and reasonably priced.
